Göteborg Film Festival is with its 160 000 admissions the leading film festival and the primary networking platform for the film and TV industry in the Nordic countries, presenting new film and drama series from the region. All through the festival week 1900 producers, commissioners, directors, screenwriters and other industry experts attend the festival.

The festival offers a wide range of industry event, film and seminar programmes. The Swedish Industry Weekend starts off the festival. It has a vast seminar programme focusing on Swedish film production and politics, about 70 Swedish films will have their world premiere during the weekend as well as a short film market that finishes with the festival’s short film competition ”Startsladden”.

Nordic Film Market is the festival’s platform for new films available for distribution, work in progress, film projects in development, spotting talent and trends in film from the Nordic region (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland). The platform offers wide program and several opportunities to meet, mingle and network with the Nordic and international film industry.

TV Drama Vision is a two day seminar and co-production event showcasing tv drama from the Nordic countries, bringing the latest international trends of tv drama and key people from the industry. As a part of TV Drama Vision, the Nordisk Film & Tv Fond Prize  is presented by Göteborg Film Festival and Nordisk Film & TV Fond. 5-7 drama series from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, is each year nominated for the € 20,000 award, which goes to the main writer(s) of the series.

The Nostradamus project is a multiyear international initiative to document and analyse industry changes and make projections for the future. Read the annual reports and revisit the seminars.

Göteborg Film Festival also runs Nordic Film Lab, a networking forum for upcoming northern filmmakers, and the Discovery, a co-financing platform where projects in development are presented and the Nordic Film Lab are given an opportunity to present their projects.

Festival Scope - Online Video Library

A rich selection of films from the festival is available on Festival Scope for online viewing. You are granted access if you have an Industry, VIP or Nordic Film Market accreditation and belong to one of following categories: organizations (film funds, promotion, etc), distribution, exhibition, film festival, international sales, press, production, television and VOD. The access is valid during the festival dates. Festival Scope will also feature a selection of the films for viewing online for members only after the festival.
