Director Mia Hansen-Løve to head Nordic competition jury at 43rd Göteborg Film Festival

Eight films will compete in the Nordic Competition 2020. The nominees will be revealed on January 7.

Mia Hansen-Løve – the French director of Things to Come, Eden and Father of My Children as well as the upcoming Bergman Island will head the jury of the Nordic competition at the 43rd Göteborg Film Festival.

Göteborg Film Festival proudly presents celebrated film maker Mia Hansen-Løve as head of the Nordic competition jury at the festival 2020. Hansen-Løve won the Silver Bear for best director at the Berlinale 2016 for Things to Come. Other films include Eden, Goodbye First Love and Father of My Children. Hansen-Løve is currently working on her new film Bergman Island, starring Tim Roth, Mia Wasikowska and Vicky Krieps.

Mia Hansen-Løve is joined in the Göteborg Film Festival Nordic Competition jury by:

Yonfan, Chinese director who has been working in Hong Kong since the early 1980’s. In 2011 he was honored with a retrospective at Busan Film Festival and hailed as “a living legend in Hong Kong independent cinema”. In 2019 Yonfan competed for the Golden Lion at Venice Film Festival with animated feature No. 7 Cherry Lane and was awarded for Best Screenplay. No. 7 Cherry Lane will compete in International Competition at Göteborg Film Festival.

Marianne Slot, French producer who among other things won the Nordic Council Film Prize 2018 for Benedikt Erlingsson’s Woman at War. She has also produced films by filmmakers such as Lucretia Martel and Lisandro Alonso. As a co-producer she has worked with Lars von Trier since his The Kingdom in 1994.

Sofia Norlin, Swedish director and screenwriter, active in both film and theater in Sweden and France. In 2013 Norlin made her feature film debut with Broken Hill Blues.
