Fatih Abay, with the pronouns (he/him), is the Diversity & Inclusion Officer of the European Film Academy. Trained as a cultural anthropologist, his research in the last ten years mainly focused on migration, diversity, racism, gender, critical theory and post-colonial studies. He taught these topics in various courses at several universities in and around Berlin, Germany. Before joining the European Film Academy, he worked for an anti-racism NGO in Germany, where he was responsible for its scientific-civil society orientation and political advocacy.
