Strategy Consultant, Head of Training MEDICI - The Film Funding Journey
Tamara combines solid experience in international funding & promotion strategies with a strong passion for talent curation. She was the Director of the Georgian National Film Center (2010-2013) and instigated full reform of the institution, resulting in the emergence of a new wave of talented filmmakers. Before that appointment, Tamara co-founded and served as an Executive Director of the “Independent Filmmakers’ Association – South Caucasus” (IFA-SC).
Since 2014, Tamara has been involved in different film activities internationally, combining various professional roles. Among those, she worked for European Women’s Audiovisual Network as Strategy Manager and curated high-level conference CINEMA BACKSTAGE for Odessa International Film Festival in Ukraine.
Since February 2020 Tamara is Head of Training for FOCAL’s international programme MEDICI – The Film Funding Journey: annual vocational destination designed exclusively for senior public financers. Tamara regularly consults festivals as programmer and is often invited as a host to different industry programs. In 2012 Tamara was awarded the French Distinction of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettre.
