Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM) Delegation
Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung GmbH (MDM) awards funding to promising film and media projects realised in the German federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. The region offers excellent filming conditions - unique locations, excellent creative talent and service providers - and is home to numerous production companies with extensive experience in international co-productions.
In 2024, over 19 million euros in funding were invested in the development, production and distribution of a total of 174 film and media projects. More than 13.8 million euros were invested in the production of 51 cinema and television films. International co-productions and promising newcomer projects are two of the MDM's traditional funding priorities.
Funding schemes are available for all phases, starting from idea and script development through to production and distribution/sales. To be eligible, production companies must spend at least the awarded funds in the region of Mitteldeutschland.
