Film- und Medienstiftung NRW Delegation
Funding for German and international film productions in NRW has a strong track record, with notable works such as Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Amélie, Maren Ade’s Toni Erdmann, Stephen Daldry’s The Reader. Centrally located in Europe, North Rhine-Westphalia is one of Europe’s most dynamic production regions, offering international producers excellent conditions for co-productions.
NRW provides diverse urban and industrial locations, modern studio facilities and highly experienced English-speaking crews. With an annual budget of around €35 million, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW supports feature films, documentaries, high-end series, audio projects, games and immersive media across all stages of development, pre-production and production. Jury sessions are held five times a year, and tailored guidance helps producers navigate the application process and connect with local partners — making NRW a reliable and well-connected hub for ambitious international co-productions.
