Summer had one last encore as Göteborg Film Festival Open Air took over Stigbergets Bryggan on Ringön on August 21–22. For two days, the waterfront was filled with film, music and late-summer evenings by the river.

Friday night kicked off with Óliver Laxe’s Sirāt, a hypnotic journey through the Moroccan desert, followed by an afterparty with Radio Marrakech. On Saturday, we started with a matinée screening of Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet, before Open Air wrapped up on home turf with It Pays to Belong, the film about Gothenburg indie band The Embassy, followed by live music from Sylvie’s Head.

And with that, Open Air is over for this year. Thank you to everyone who came, played, screened films, danced, hung out and shared one last weekend of late-summer cinema with us. Now we’re heading back into the darkness of the cinema – see you this autumn!
