Göteborg Film Festival closes its 49th festival edition

The 2026 Göteborg Film Festival closes after ten festival days with 266 film premieres, talks, parties, live music and a vast industry programme.

The 2026 edition also set new records, welcoming 2,600 accredited professionals from 50 countries. Of these, 1,370 delegates took part in our film and series markets TV Drama Vision and Nordic Film Market, where 130 film and series projects were presented, followed by 500+ curated meetings, alongside 250 on-stage speakers from all over the world.

The festival’s Dragon Awards once again spotlighted outstanding creators and films from the Nordics and beyond. The Last Resort, directed by Maria Sødahl, received the Dragon Award for Best Nordic Film, while Weightless by Emilie Thalund and The Quiet Beekeeper by Marcus Carlsson stood out among this year’s awarded titles in the Nordic Competition.
