Göteborg Film Fund – Open Call for Residencies for Georgian Documentary Filmmakers

Göteborg Film Fund and Göteborg Film Festival welcomes two Georgian filmmakers to work on their feature-length documentary or hybrid projects in Göteborg. The residency will take place from August to September 2026, running alongside the residency for Ukrainian directors which has been held annually since 2022.

The residency includes:

• Two-month’s stay in Göteborg, with apartment and per diem (SEK 10,000/month)
• Travel costs to and from Göteborg
• Workspace at Göteborg Film Festival’s office
• Networking opportunities with the local film industry
• Individual coaching

The residencies are organised with financing from the Swedish Institute within the programme Creative Partnerships, in cooperation with Documentary Association Georgia (DOCA).

How to Apply

To apply for the residency, please submit the following:

• A brief description of the project you intend to work on during the residency
• Filmmaker’s biography (CV)
• A motivation letter, outlining your goals and plans for your time in Göteborg
• Don’t forget to mention where you are based. We prioritize filmmakers with their base within Georgia.
