With great dedication, expertise, and ambition, Josef has contributed to expanding the festival’s international networks, partnerships, and strategic and editorial development of the festival’s industry programme. His contributions have been instrumental in the festival’s continued development and success.

– Göteborg Film Festival has been such an important part of my life, and it has been a privilege to contribute to its development, says Josef Kullengård. I’m proud of what we have achieved together, strengthening Göteborg’s position as an international platform for industry collaboration, creative exchange, and Nordic films, series and talent. Above all, I’m grateful for the wonderful colleagues and friendships that have made these years so special. While my family and I are excited about this new chapter, I will certainly miss being part of the festival a lot, and I look forward to seeing where the team takes it next.

Josef will continue in his role at Göteborg Film Festival through the festival's 50th anniversary edition in 2027, after which he will relocate to Copenhagen, taking on the role of Head of Industry & Training at the international documentary film festival CPH:DOX.

–We would like to extend our warmest thanks to Josef Kullengård for his dedication, creativity and invaluable contributions over the years, and wishes him all the best in his next chapter, says Kristina Colliander, CEO of Göteborg Film Festival.

The process of recruiting his successor will begin shortly.
