Québec in Focus at Nordic Film Market and TV Drama Vision 2027

Québec will take centre stage as the Official Region in Focus at Nordic Film Market and TV Drama Vision 2027, presented within Göteborg Film Festival Industry under the title Québec – Why Not?

Québec – Why Not? will introduce Nordic and international industry professionals to Québec's audiovisual sector, a selection of projects, its producers and broadcasters, and its long-standing tradition of international co-production.

The focus will bring a curated delegation of Québec industry professionals to Göteborg, offering Nordic and international participants a closer look at the Canadian region's financing landscape and its potential as a partner for future co-productions.

Alongside the programme, dedicated matchmaking and networking activities will give Québec and Nordic companies the opportunity to meet directly, exchange ideas, and create possibilities for collaborations.

Louise Lantagne, President and CEO of SODEC said:

This spotlight on Québec at the Nordic Film Market and the TV Drama Vision represents an exceptional opportunity to showcase the richness, creativity, and excellence of our audiovisual industry. SODEC is proud to contribute to this Québec presence, which will help strengthen our relationships with Nordic and international markets while paving the way for new collaboration opportunities.

Josef Kullengård, Head of Industry at Göteborg Film Festival, said:

We are delighted to welcome Québec as our Region in Focus in 2027. Québec has a vibrant audiovisual industry, a strong culture of international collaboration and creative talent that we believe will resonate with the Nordic industry. Through Québec – Why Not?, we hope to create meaningful encounters and open the door to new partnerships and co-productions between Québec and the Nordic region.”

The focus is developed and presented in partnership with SODEC (Société de développement des entreprises culturelles).

TV Drama Vision will take place on February 2–3 and Nordic Film Market on February 3–5, 2027, as part of the 50th Göteborg Film Festival from January 29 – February 7, 2027.
