Two Georgian Filmmakers Selected for Residency at Göteborg Film Festival
Göteborg Film Fund continues supporting the Georgian documentary industry, within the programme The Power of Documentary: A Cross-Border Collaboration for Creative Freedom. In partnership with DOCA (Documentary Association Georgia) two filmmakers have been selected for a summer residency in Göteborg.

Irine Jordania is a Georgian filmmaker working across fiction and hybrid forms. She works extensively in film as a scriptwriter and has contributed as an editor to media and cultural outlets. Her debut short film 12 K. Marx Street premiered at Sarajevo Film Festival and was selected as a candidate for the European Film Awards 2020. Her first feature film Air Blue Silk premiered at Black Nights Film Festival Tallinn (2024), and her second feature film project – which she will be working with in Göteborg – Nutsa. Love is currently in development.

Tsira Gvasalia is a health and environment journalist, currently based in Tbilisi. With over 12-years' experience in print, online media and documentary filmmaking, she intends to explore and use media's all powerful tools, including film, to present and raise awareness on important topics to societies, such as local and global health crisis and needs, climate justice and women's struggle and rising roles in decision making process in societies of all kinds. Her film Intimate Voices of Chalaadi Glacier which she will be working with in Göteborg – is currently in development.
The participants will join the three, earlier selected, Ukrainian filmmakers in Göteborg during August and September, working on their projects at the festival’s offices while networking with the local film industry.
The programme is financed by the Swedish Institute.
