Discovery is the Nordic Film Market’s dedicated platform for showcasing feature films in development. It aims to promote Nordic creators and talents while fostering connections with co-production and financing partners across Europe.
As part of the Discovery platform, selected projects are eligible for the prestigious €15,000 Film Finances Scandinavia Award. This cash development award recognizes one outstanding project from the lineup, offering essential support for its continued development. The award is generously presented by Film Finances Scandinavia.
In 2025, the Film Finances Scandinavia Award was awarded to You Crazy Thing, directed by Miia Tervo and produced by Marko Talli (Yellow Film & TV).
Jury for 2025 award: Goran Kapetanović (Sweden), Director; Katrin Mersmann (Germany), Head of Funding and International Co-production, MOIN Film Fund; Paolo Bertolin (Italy), Senior programmer, Artistic Director, New Zealand International Film Festival.
Jury statement:“We unanimously decided to award a story coming from a remote place that hits close to the heart thanks to an equally heartfelt and hilarious presentation. This project promises to turn into a melancholic yet humorous view on human life that reveals how what makes us different could be just a pair of keys.”

Synopsis: Aino, a broke-ass mental health nurse who hates the rich, prepares a performance with her patients for TV’s Talent competition. But when she falls in love with one of the patients, wealthy investment consultant Mikael, Aino has to learn that in order to be loved you have to dare to reveal yourself with all your craziness.

In 2025, Göteborg Film Festival’s Nordic Film Market launches the Nordic Gateway, a new section connecting international feature films with Nordic partners. Highlighting five high-potential projects from renowned creators and production companies, the initiative sparks opportunities for co-production and financing.
In 2025 one project received the 400,000 SEK (€35,000) Tint Post-Production Award, presented by Göteborg-based studio Tint. The award recognizses one exceptional project from the Nordic Gateway section, providing high-quality post-production services to support the winning project’s artistic vision.
In 2025 the Tint Post-Production Award was awarded to Honor of Persia directed by Zar Amir Ebrahimi and produced by Mohammad Farokhmanesh, Zar Amir Ebrahimi, and Jacob Jarek, brave new work, Alambic Production and Profile Pictures.

Synopsis: An old explicit tape is leaked, and Ava Rad, a beloved star of Iranian TV and cinema adored by the religious Guardians of the Islamic Revolution and Iran's cultural elite, begins a descent into hell. A story of betrayal, a tragicomic portrait of a truly schizophrenic country, between religious totalitarianism and the extravagance of a youth under pressure.
