Baltasar Kormákur is an Icelandic director, actor, and producer. He was the first recipient of the Nordic Honorary Dragon Award, introduced at Göteborg Film Festival in 2014. The award is intended for Nordic filmmakers who deserve special recognition for their contributions to cinema.
Kormákur’s notable films include 2 Guns (2013) and The Deep (2012). During the 2014 festival, his film 101 Reykjavik (2000) was also screened—a dark comedy about an adult man living in the heart of Reykjavik’s club scene while still living with his mother. Kormákur also delivered a Masterclass during his visit to the festival.
