Hafsteinn’s debut film Á annan veg screened at festivals worldwide and was re-made in the USA as Prince Avalanche. He was selected as “Variety’s Ten European Directors to Watch” in 2012. His third feature, Under the Tree, premiered at Venice Film Festival in 2017. He is in post-production on his first English language feature, Northern Comfort.
