Spotlight on This Year’s Centerpiece: The History of Sound
Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor goes Brokeback Mountain in Oliver Hermanus’s melancholic tribute to the power of music and the legacy of American folk traditions.
We are proud to present The History of Sound as this year’s centerpiece.
Blessed with perfect pitch, Kentucky country boy Lionel earns a place at the prestigious music conservatory in Boston, where he meets the exuberantly charming David. As strong as the attraction, is their shared love for authentic folk music. The First World War comes between them, but the pair are reunited on a song-collecting journey in Maine, tasked with preserving music for future generations. The stunning song harmonies and acoustic music may be unplugged, but Mescal and O’Connor are all the more electric in this romantic portrait of a life-changing love that survives everything.
The festival’s centerpiece, The History of Sound, will be shown at Biograf Draken on January 28. Tickets out!
