Finnish-Bulgarian Boriana (22) escapes her everyday life into endless nights with sex, drugs and music as an aspiring DJ. When her estranged Bulgarian mother suddenly dies, she’s forced to travel to Sofia and faces a grimy, frantic and completely untranslatable city. Amid the emotional turbulence of funeral arrangements she forms a deep bond with her mother’s lover and learns to embrace her heritage. Flowers of Farewell portrays Boriana’s intimate journey of self-discovery and visceral search for her identity.
