Based on a true story, Hana Korea follows Hyesun, a young North Korean defector who has just arrived in the fast-paced and hyper-modern South Korea. As she struggles to adapt to her new life, Hyesun must face the emotional toll of leaving behind her past while trying to carve out a place for herself in a society that demands personal sacrifice and conformity. Her journey towards freedom comes at a steep price. Is it worth it? Can she truly let go of her past?
