Nordic Film Market 2026

Call for Projects

Göteborg Film Festival’s Nordic Film Market showcases the most exciting new Nordic films and talents. For the 2026 edition, submissions are open for the Discovery Co-Production Platform and, for the first time, Works in Progress.

Each year, Nordic Film Market brings together 600 accredited sales agents, distributors, buyers, producers, programmers, financiers, and other key industry delegates. It’s the region’s leading hub for discovering new projects and talent, and a key meeting point for connecting with decision-makers.

Discovery Co-Production Platform

For Nordic feature films in development, Discovery offers the opportunity to pitch to international partners, financiers, and co-producers. Projects at Discovery are eligible for the €15,000 Film Finances Scandinavia Award.

Recent Discovery selections include projects such as Holy Spider (Ali Abbasi), Hypnosis (Ernst de Geer), The Opponent (Milad Alami), Pleasure (Ninja Thyberg), The Quiet Migration (Malene Choi Jensen), and Sick of Myself (Kristoffer Borgli).

Call for Projects

Deadline for Discovery submissions is October 10.

Works in Progress

Works in Progress is Nordic Film Market’s platform for spotlighting the most promising Nordic feature films in production or post-production. In 2026, the sessions will be held in the festival’s iconic Cinema Draken, as always featuring on-stage presentations with exclusive screenings of clips.

In recent years, titles presented in Göteborg include Armand (Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel), The Girl With the Needle (Magnus von Horn), Sex Love Dreams (Dag Johan Haugerud), and When the Lights Breaks (Rúnar Rúnarsson).
