The release of the 12th Nostradamus Report

The 2025 Nostradamus Report “Reality/Resistance” will be unveiled at Marché du Film on May 19 by report author and media analyst Johanna Koljonen, followed by an in-depth panel.

Real-world crises now affect the film industry daily, while its challenges with business models, audience relevance, and sustainability remain unresolved. The 2025 Nostradamus Report portrays an industry shifting from resisting reality to building resilient resistance, bringing practical ideas for sustainable projects and near-future business models.

Since 2013, the Göteborg Film Festival’s Nostradamus initiative has provided forward-looking insights into the future of the audiovisual industry. Authored by media analyst Johanna Koljonen, the annual reports track emerging trends in business models, distribution, and audience behaviour, offering valuable guidance for industry professionals and policymakers across Europe.
