Focus Film Alingsås
In Alingsås, Göteborg Film Festival’s film educators conducted a total of 31 full-day filmmaking workshops—one workshop per class where students created films on a specific theme.
In 2021, all Year 7 students in Alingsås participated, with the theme being friendship. The project concluded with a school cinema screening of the film The Crossing, which explores the theme of unexpected friendship as children flee from Norway to Sweden during World War II.
In 2022, all Year 9 students took part. This time, the theme was escape, and participants watched the award-winning documentary by director Jonas Poher Rasmussen of the same name. The deeply impactful screenings took place in complete silence at Biograf Palladium.
Göteborg Film Festival developed a teacher’s guide for each film, providing a framework for follow-up classroom discussions about the film and its themes.
