The Nordic Series Awards celebrates the finest achievements in Nordic drama series, presented by Nordisk Film & TV Fond and Göteborg Film Festival.
Nordic Series Script Award
The Nordic Series Script Award recognises outstanding screenwriting in Nordic drama, continuing the tradition of its predecessor, the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize. Financed by Nordisk Film & TV Fond, this prestigious award includes a prize of NOK 200,000 (€17,000) and is presented to the main writer(s) of a Nordic drama series that premiered during the previous year.
Creative Courage Award
Introduced alongside the Script Award, the Creative Courage Award honors the producer and commissioner of a series that exemplifies bold, innovative, and risk-taking approaches in Nordic drama. This honorary award celebrates individuals and companies who embrace creative challenges and pioneer new directions in storytelling. The Creative Courage recipient is selected from admissions by the Nordic streamers and broadcasters.
The winners of the Nordic Series Awards 2026 will be announced during TV Drama Vision 2026.
Call for Series 2026
Eligibility Criteria
- The series must be primarily Nordic. The main production companies need to be based and have their address in the Nordic region: Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden or Åland.
- Only the first seasons of a series will be considered.
- The series must have its premiere between January 1 and December 31, 2025.
Submission Guidelines
- Each broadcaster/streamer may submit up to two drama series.
- When submitting two titles:
Both may be entered for the Nordic Series Script Award, or
One may be entered for the Nordic Series Script Award and one for the Creative Courage Award. - When submitting a title to the Creative Courage Award, you need to include a short motivation of motivation of what makes the commissioning brave and the production pioneering.
- Individual production companies, creators, etc. are not eligible to submit series.
Series nominated for the Nordic Series Script Award will be contacted in mid-December.
Please note that for nominated series we will require the full series script in English by early January 2026. Scripts are not required for the Creative Courage Award.
The deadline to submit a series is November 13, 2025.
