Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie constantly returns to race, identity and equality in her writing. With the roots in her Nigerian heritage, her work depicts family relations in the shadow of postcolonial turmoil and culture clashes with Western norms and ideals, particularly the states where she lives and works.
Adichie has also become known as a lecturer. Her TEDxTalk We should all be feminists has received several million views on Youtube. With the film adaption of her second novel, Half a Yellow Sun (2014), she visited Göteborgs Film Festival 2014. The story about three different life destinies during the Biafra-war in the 60’s was part of the Festival’s program.
