Göteborg Film Festival, celebrating its 48th edition in 2025, is the premier film festival in the Nordics, attracting one of the world’s largest festival audiences. With a dedication to supporting filmmakers and pushing the boundaries of cinema, the festival offers a vibrant platform for professionals, filmmakers, and audiences.

The festival hosts several major competitions, including the Nordic Competition, Ingmar Bergman Competition, and International Competition.

Göteborg Film Festival is the key industry platform in the region, drawing over 2,000 industry delegates from more than 50 countries. Nordic Film Market showcases new and upcoming Nordic films and talents, TV Drama Vision, dedicated to drama series, brings together international business trends, creative talent, and key professionals, and the Nostradamus project presents foresight on the near future of the audiovisual sector.

Information about the 2024 edition

Nordic Film Market is the leading film market in Scandinavia and the primary industry platform for new films available for distribution, work in progress, film projects in development, spotting talent and trends in film from the Nordic region (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland). The platform offers wide program and several opportunities to meet, mingle and network with the Nordic and international film industry.


TV Drama Vision is a two-day conference and co-production event showcasing European, bringing the latest international trends of drama and key professionals from the audiovisual industries.

As a part of TV Drama Vision, the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize  is presented by Göteborg Film Festival and Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Five drama series from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, is each year nominated for the NOK) 200,000 award, which goes to the main writer(s) of the series.


The Nostradamus project is a multiyear international initiative to document and analyse industry changes and make projections for the future. Read the annual reports and revisit the seminars.


Göteborg Film Festival also runs Nordic Film Lab, a networking forum for upcoming northern filmmakers, and the Discovery, a co-financing platform where projects in development are presented and the Nordic Film Lab are given an opportunity to present their projects.


Film Forum Sweden (Filmforum Sverige) presents talks and seminars focusing on inspiration, competence development and forward-looking dialogue targeting the Swedish film industry.
