Cinema Draken is the beating heart of the festival—this is our main cinema and home to the biggest premieres, as well as the festival’s central ticket office. The cinema is connected to Hotel Draken and hosts the evening programme throughout the festival.

The magnificent venue has a vaulted ceiling and walls clad entirely in mahogany. In front of the large screen hangs the iconic stage curtain, adorned with a stylised dragon ship designed by Gunnar Erik Ström.

Located at Järntorget and operated by Folkets Hus, Biograf Draken was inaugurated in 1956. Its architectural kinship with Göteborg Concert Hall is evident—both were designed by Nils Einar Eriksson.
