Ari Tolppanen has been involved in many top Finnish and European productions as financier and executive producer, including Aku Louhimies’ Unknown Soldier (the most successful film in Finnish box office history), AJ Annila’s Eternal Road, Timo Vuorensola’s Iron Sky, Antti J Jokinen’s Flowers of Evil, Sophie Hyde’s Animals, as well as upcoming dramas Tove (dir. Zaida Bergroth) and NIMBY (dir.Teemu Nikki). He is an owner and chairman of the board of Aurora Studios (Company that develops, finances, produces and distributes quality film and tv content), Ilona Studios Oy (Central Helsinki entertainment hub including movie theatres and restaurants) and Friday Capital Oy (boutique financing company which provides lending and gap financing for film & TV). He also was the founder and CEO of Nordfilm Oy in 1980, thus last year marked Tolppanen’s 40 years as an active member of the Finnish, Scandinavian and European film industry.
