For the third summer in a row, Göteborg Film Fund welcomes three Ukrainian filmmakers to work on their projects in Göteborg. Last year’s resident Svitlana Lischynska’s documentary A Bit of a Stranger premiered in the Berlinale Panorama programme earlier this year, co-produced by Swedish Vilda Bomben Film. The film is also presented at Marché du Film in Cannes.
“We are looking forward to receiving new Ukrainian filmmakers in Göteborg. The track record, with Berlinale premieres following the residencies for two consecutive years, of course, makes us wish for a third one, preferably with a Göteborg co-producer as with the other two”, says Camilla Larsson, Manager Göteborg Film Fund.
The residencies are organised with financing from Region Västra Götaland and in cooperation with Företagsbostäder and Filmkontoret – The City of Gothenburg.
The three Residencies consist of:
– Two months’ stay in Göteborg: Apartment (with room for family members if needed) and per diem (SEK 10 000/month)
– Travel costs to and from Göteborg
– Workspace at the offices of Göteborg Film Festival
– Networking opportunities with the local film industry
– Individual coaching
The residencies take place August-September 2024. The call is open until June 7.
