Director, producer and actor
Baltasar Kormákur is a director, actor and producer from Iceland. He was the first to be awarded with Nordic Honorary Dragon Award which was initiated at Göteborg Film Festival 2014. The award is intended to highlight nordic filmmakers that deserves attention for their contribution in film.
With films like 2 Guns (2013) and The Deep (2012), he is one of Icelands most prominent filmmakers. His film 101 Reykjavik (2000) was also shown during 2014’s festival, a black comedy about a grown man living in the center of Reykjavik’s club scene, and still lives with his mum. Kormákur also gave a Master Class during his visit at the festival.
