It is difficult to describe Liv Ullmann in any other way than as a living legend. She has left an enduring mark on Swedish film history. Perhaps above all together with Ingmar Bergman and through roles in films such as Persona, Cries & Whispers and Scenes from a Marriage. But there are many who are likely to remember her for her role as Kristina in Jan Troell’s The Emigrants, for which she won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Oscar.
Liv Ullmann visited the festival in 2015 when she received our prize, Nordic Honorary Dragon Award.
