Martha Batalha is the author of the novel The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmão and the film with the same name which was screened at Göteborg Film Festival in 2020. The film was selected as the Brazilian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards and was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the top prize.
