Director
Paul Thomas Anderson is one of his generation’s great filmmakers. He has yet to turn 50, but he already has a large number of films, prizes and award nominations under his belt. He’s perhaps most well-known for Magnolia (1999) and the eight-time Oscar-nominated There Will Be Blood (2007) starring Daniel Day-Lewis in the leading role—seen by many as one of the best films of the millennium thus far. He is current with the surrealistic neo-noir Inherent Vice (2014).
Anderson visited the festival in 2003 with the film Punch Drunk Love.
