Göteborg Film Festival

– It gets more and more difficult to find an artist that has not already been commissioned and at the same time lives up to our expectations. But when we discovered Helena Blomqvist and got familiar with her previous work there were no doubts. We are truly excited to uncover this year’s festival poster, said the festival producer Håkan Westesson at Göteborg Film Festival.

Helena Blomqvist is born 1975 in Smedjebacken, Dalarna. She has studied at Högskolan för Fotografi och Film in Göteborg. Today, she lives and work in Stockholm and has attended several group exhibitions namely at Nylo Living Art Museum in Reykjavik in Iceland, Instabilt in Stockholm and in Umeå at Stockholm Fine Art Fair and Swedish style in Tokyo, Japan, Seoul and South Korea. She has also received the Hasseblandstiftelsen Grez-zur-Loing scholarship and the Fredrika Bremer Scholarship. Helena Blomqvist is represented namely at Moderna Museet and Hasselbladsstiftelsen.

– It has been very fun to make the festival poster, the request suited me well since my imagery often contains associations to film, says Helena Blomqvist.
