Producer, Mer Film
Maria founded the production company Mer Film, and with her company Ekerhovd has been the delegate producer on twelve feature films, as well as many co-productions. Her latest films include Gritt by Itonje Søimer Guttormsen which premiered in Competition in Rotterdam ( 2021) and The Innocents (2021) by Eskil Vogt, which premiered in Un Certain Regard at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, in the fall of 2022 Mer Film released the historical drama War Sailor by Gunnar Vikene which has been a big box office success in Norway and now in February its the premiere of Ole Giævers Let The River Flow ( 2023) that also will compete for the Dragon Award. In 2021, Maria Ekerhovd was awarded the Eurimage Co-production Award at the European Film Awards.
