The Swedish Torpedo

Sweden

Inspired by a true story, the Swedish Torpedo is a drama about Sally Bauer who has to defy her family and social norms to swim the English Channel. 1939. Europe is on the brink of war. Sally, a 30-year-old single mom, wants to swim. Far. She dreams of being the first Scandinavian to cross the English Channel. But no one in her family understands her. Especially not her mother, who urges Sally to take responsibility as a mother and stop the swimming-foolishness. Trying to live up to other people’s expectations, Sally feels increasingly suffocated and decides to pursue her dream.
