Thea Hvistendahl

Thea Hvistendahl is a Norwegian director. She graduated with a directors degree from Westerdals School of Communication in 2013. She started specializing in making music videos and have since 2015 been making shorts and commercials as well. In December 2017 her first feature The Monkey and The Mouth premiered in cinemas all over Norway with huge critical acclaim. The film is a hybrid between concert film and fictional narrative. The Monkey and The Mouth had it’s international premiere at Göteborg Film Festival 2018.

The opening film for the 2024 festival was her Handling the Undead, an adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s successful novel. The film also competed in the Nordic Competition.
