Marioan was born in Kurdistan and grew up in a refugee camp in Iraq for about six years before he got to Sweden. Stockholm has been his home since 1993. He studied screenwriting for film and television at Stockholm academy of dramatic arts 2012-2015. He is currently writing on two feature films, one of them together with Ahmed Abdullahi, the same director and producer that made Martyren and the other for SF studios. Marioan also works half time on SVT Drama as a script editor.
